Obituary For James Robinson

Greetings Metropolitan Family,

Please keep Servant Charisse Williams lifted in your prayers in the passing of her father, Mr. James Robinson.

Jim was born on 2/4/1943 in Shreveport, LA to Dr. John P. Robinson and Arlene Haggard Robinson. He was the oldest of 4 children. Jim was married on 8/15/1963 to Nancy Jean Wheless. He graduated from LSU in 1963 and started his career in Education. He taught and coached for 41 years all over Texas, ending his career locally with Hallsville and then Longview ISD from which he retired.

Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to camp and be outdoors and travel. He did have some of his bucket list items checked off while they were still able to travel with their motorhome. He was a member of Mobberly Baptist church and an advocate for our Lord Jesus Christ. He was also a member of Ambucs where he helped many handicapped children with getting them mobility trikes and other needs.

Over the years, he lived all over the state of Texas as a beloved teacher and coach of many sports with football being his main sport. After being married they started out living in McAllen and went as far as Wheeler before moving back to East Texas where he settled for the rest of his career and retirement. He was currently living at Arabella of Longview where they were reunited with old friends and enjoyed their company until he was called home on 4/9/2023.
