Obituary For Devin Brandon Wilder

Devin B. Wilder, 41, of Jersey City, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, June 20, 2024.

Devin Brandon Wilder was born on February 21, 1983, in Newark, New Jersey, to Teresa Wilder and Robert Lessane. Devin graduated from Technology High School in 2001, where he developed a passion for cars. His enthusiasm for automotive technology led him to Lincoln Technical Institute, where he honed his skills and eventually became a technician at Jiffy Lube. In 2008, Devin embarked on a new journey with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration (TSA). Over the next 16 years, he served with unwavering commitment as a Transportation Security Officer at Newark Liberty International Airport.

While working for TSA, Devin met Shalonda McCall, and after eight years of dating, they married in 2021. As a devoted husband, Devin showered Shalonda with unwavering love and support, creating a bond that was both strong and unbreakable. Devin was also a devoted father to their son, Cody, and shared a special connection with his stepchildren, Neveah Mustipher and Stephen Hunt. To Devin, being a stepfather was merely a formality; Neveah, Stephen, and Cody were his children. Devin embraced his role as a father with open arms, and he loved them with all his heart. Devin’s family was the cornerstone of his life, and he cherished every moment spent with them.

Devin was a man who found joy in the simple things in life. He treasured watching his children grow and cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Whether it was a day at the lake or the beach, playing video games, or watching anime, Devin always made the most of every moment. He was also an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Devin was a kindhearted person who brought joy to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. His infectious laughter and warm smile could brighten even the darkest of days. Whenever you needed something, Devin was the person you could count on to be there, always making sure everyone else was ok. Devin had a knack for telling jokes; even in the most serious of times, he was always ready to bring a smile to everyone’s face.

Devin was preceded in death by his grandmother, Dorothy Ann Davis, and his father, Robert Lessane.

Devin is survived by his wife, Shalonda McCall, his son, Cody Wilder, his stepdaughter, Neveah Mustipher, his stepson, Stephen Hunt, his mother, Teresa Wilder (Ezra), his sister, Tiffany
Abraham (Racheal), as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and loving friends.
