Obituary For Darrell Wayne Morris

Please keep Mrs. Doris Spruell and Mr. Columbus Spruell lifted in your prayers in the passing of her first-cousin Mr. Darrell Morris of Alexandria, LA. Please keep the Morris and Spruell family in your prayers.

Mr. Darrell Wayne Morris, born April 17, 1970, in Alexandria, Louisiana, to the late Annie Mae Gurley, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2024, at the age of 54. He is now reunited with his beloved mother, Annie, and other family members in eternal rest.

Darrell was a graduate of Bolton High School and later worked at Afco Industries Inc., where he was known for his strong work ethic and friendly nature. He was a man with a great spirit, always surrounded by a network of friends who cherished his companionship. Darrell especially enjoyed playing dominoes, a pastime that brought him closer to his “Domino Family,” who were an integral part of his life. He was a huge fan of listening to Tupac and Sade. He made the best fried chicken you will ever taste.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Gurley; his grandmother Pearl Tyler and siblings, Deeleen Morris and Lawrence Gurley.

Darrell leaves behind a loving family who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his children: Darrisha Conston (Cedric), Niesha King, and Tracy Shelton, Jordayn Moore, and Nigel Moore. He is also survived by his sisters Loretta Folds (Hozie) in Hampton, Virginia, Cleda Gurley and Cynthia Piper, his brothers, William Morris (Teresa) in Louisa, Virginia. Herman Dave Morris in Baton Rouge, LA, Maurice Morris (Brenda) in Atlanta, GA, and Jerry Baker (Kim), Alexandria, LA. Additionally, Darrell is survived by his beautiful nieces Candice Holmes, Sydney Morris, Shawndreka Hall, Tameka Hall, Angel Marie, Valentine Morris, April Morris, Dr. Kyana Morris and Denise (T.L.) Tannehill. His handsome nephews Derrick Gurley, Lawrence “Pooh” Brown, Demarcus Hall, Herman “Lil Dave” Morris, Cedric Morris, Phillip Gurley and Jermaine Morris. Darrell leaves cousins, a wide circle of special friends, associates and co- workers all of whom will forever hold his memory in their hearts.

Darrell’s legacy of love, laughter, and camaraderie will remain with all who knew him. He had a unique ability to affect those around him, leaving a lasting impact on his family, friends, and co-workers.

May Darrell rest in peace, he will forever be remembered for his kindness, warmth, and the many cherished memories he leaves behind.

“The two hardest things to say in Life are Hello for the first time and Goodbye for the last.”—Moira Rogers

This isn’t the end family and friends!!!
