Nedria “Von” Bailey

Nedria “Von” Bailey is a Native Washingtonian. She is a U.S. Army Veteran and retired as a Public Servant of 40 years from the Department of Health and Human Services, and Health and Resources Administration (HRSA)/Bureau of Primary Health Care (BPHC). She started her work in Administration and advanced over the years to Director, Emergent Health Services Division that has oversight of Emergency Federal Grants issued to over more than 1,400 Federally Qualified Community Health Centers (FQHCs) across the Country serving more than 31 Million people that were either underserved or uninsured. FQHCs provide high quality health services to vulnerable populations and Mrs. Bailey was able to lead more than 156 Public Health Analysts to review and award over 12,000 COVID grants from 2020-2023 to educate, test, provide, and expand COVID-19 vaccination.
Mrs. Bailey also has experience in capital improvement grants as she had oversight of the FQHCs Expansion Health Services which allowed health centers to make alterations and renovations to new or current facilities to provide healthcare to their patient population. Ensuring that the federal regulations were followed by grant recipients and reporting requirements were met. Her years with the HRSA were rewarding and fulfilling.
Mrs. Bailey has also worked as a kidney health mentor for those suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease and new transplant recipients. As a two-time organ recipient and living with chronic kidney disease since 1991, she continues to work to advocate for kidney health and inspire many to take better care of their overall health.
Mrs. Bailey is a very active servant in her church, Metropolitan Baptist Church of Largo, Maryland, where she has been a member for 50 years. She served in various ministries including Multimedia, Bereavement, Music and Arts Ministry and though she now lives in New Bern, North Carolina, she currently serves as a Bible Study Facilitator, 6AM Prayer Call Leader, and On-Line Sunday Service Media Moderator.
She is currently a lifetime member of the NAACP, a Grief Group Facilitator, Climber’s Club of New Bern Member, and a New Bern City Hall Volunteer. Mrs. Bailey has a love to serve and brings her many talents to assist Metropolitan with their official records compilation and reports dispersion, provide Realm training to leaders and congregants, and provide formal communication distribution as the Interim Realm Administrator.
Mrs. Bailey is married to Collins Bailey, Jr, and has one daughter, Chanda BW Sandidge, Son-in Love, Stephon Sandidge, and a bonus son, Robert Bailey. Her motto is, “Work for a cause, not an applause. Live life to express, not to impress. Don’t strive to make your presence noticed, just to make your absence felt.”
