Dru Ealons

Dru Ealons serves as the Director of Missions & Community Engagement at the historic Metropolitan Baptist Church, where she leads the church’s charge to be the hands and feet of Christ—reaching beyond the sanctuary to touch lives in our local neighborhoods and across the globe. She provides strategic leadership to a broad range of ministries that uplift, restore, and empower individuals and families, ensuring Metropolitan’s presence is felt wherever there is need. Guided by Matthew 5:16—“Let your light so shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven”—Dru is passionate about transforming faith into action and connecting the church’s mission with meaningful, lasting impact.
Dru also serves as the Executive Director of LEADing for Life, an international nonprofit dedicated to equipping high school students for lifelong success through leadership development, experiential learning, and career exposure. Her professional journey includes serving as a senior official in President Barack Obama’s Administration at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where she led strategic engagement initiatives that deepened the agency’s connection to diverse communities nationwide. She has also advanced corporate diversity and inclusion efforts and raised critical funds as a development director supporting women and children experiencing homelessness.
A respected strategist, speaker, and author, Dru’s career reflects her deep belief in the power of relationships to open doors, break down barriers, and create generational change. She is known for her ability to cultivate authentic connections and empower others to build networks that fuel purpose and progress.
A proud Silver Life member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Dru lives in Washington, DC, with her husband, Corey, and their son, Maxwell. Grounded in faith and purpose, she is committed to being a light in the world—advancing God’s work through service, leadership, and love.
