Dr. Robert Trice, Jr. serves Abyssinia Baptist Church, Inc. of Capitol Heights, Maryland, as Senior pastor. He is the CEO of R W Trice Consulting, LLC. He received his Bachelor of Theology degree from Eastern Theological Center in 1993; a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies degree from Intercultural Open University also in 1993; a Master of Biblical Studies degree from Eastern Theological Center in 1994 and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Virginia University of Lynchburg in 2004. He has been in ministry for 30 years and served the Wingfield Baptist Church in Lynchburg, Virginia as Pastor for 16 years prior to assuming the role of Senior Pastor at Abyssinia in 2006.

Dr. Trice is an eight-year veteran of the U.S. Army Finance Corp, specializing in Military Pay and Accounting. Worked as an Auditor for Nationwide Insurance. He is active in his community lending his finance/accounting skills to various churches in the DMV area conducting training sessions for Trustees. He has served the Mount Zion Baptist Church as a Finance Specialist (2015-2019) and currently serves the Metropolitan Baptist Church, Largo, MD in that capacity (2016 -) He serves as Treasurer of Richmond Virginia Seminary, the Maryland Citizens Clergy PAC; as a mentor to Doctoral students at Virginia University of Lynchburg. He served the Prince George’s Baptist Association as chair of the Constitution Revision Committee. He is a recent author of his soon to be released book (April 2021): Beyond the Collection Plate – What Church Trustees Do.
