“See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.” ~Isaiah 43:19 (NIV) |
God Bless You, Metropolitan! I don’t know about you, but I was blessed by the targeted message Dr. Charles E. Goodman brought to us last Sunday. I was overjoyed to see all of the wonderful moments we’ve shared during this pandemic as we viewed the anniversary video. If you missed our 157th Church Anniversary worship service, you may view it here anytime! God has and is doing a NEW thing in us, Church! Summer is upon us and church leadership has planned some great classes and events for our participation. Please read below to learn about our Bible Studies, the upcoming Estate Planning Seminar, our 80 and Older Drive-thru, a Walk to end Type 1 Diabetes, the Suicide Prevention Seminar, and our Women’s Book Club for just a sampling of upcoming ministry activities. We may still be in a pandemic, but ministry and service continue! Try participating in something new or with another ministry of interest this summer! Lastly, your Pastor is personally asking each of you to continue to be diligent in your discernment. While the CDC has lifted the mandate for masks, some counties—including Prince George’s County—and states have not. Church Leadership and I strongly urge you to continue to wear them and be compassionate and understanding towards those who choose not to wear them. The Coronavirus still exists and those of us who are vaccinated, can still catch and carry the virus to others. Some are not vaccinated for any number of reasons. You can’t be too cautious. Keep your social circles small and continue to find meaningful ways to express care for one another. May God keep each of you! With care, Pastor Watson |
