Do you have a heart for serving bereaved families? Have you been comforted during your personal time of grieving? If so, the Bereavement Ministry is the place where you can serve and support others as they move through the grieving process. Let us hear from you at bereavement@metropolitanbaptist.org. Send us a note with your name, phone number, and email address! Someone from the ministry will reach out to you soon.
The Bereavement Ministry is offering GriefShare Sessions this spring on Wednesdays through May 24th at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM ET.
If you have lost a family member or someone special to your heart, then we encourage you to take part in this support group that will provide you with the tools to go through the grieving process during this difficult time.
Topics include: Is Grief Normal?, Guilt and Anger, Challenges of Grief During The COVID Season, and Establishing a New Normal After Grief.

Grieving is not limited solely to the physical loss of a loved one. It can be associated with any loss. The loss of jobs, relationships, and physical health are examples of grief. Come join the Bereavement Ministry on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon ET for “Care: Everyone Needs It.” Rev. Dr. Jamie Eaddy Chism will help us to navigate the grief gap that can exist in this space. The deadline to enroll is May 31st so register today on REALM or email bereavement@metropolitanbaptist.org.

Tanai White will lead our study of 1st Corinthians, where Paul addresses some big problems: division, sexual misconduct, misunderstanding about food and worship practices, and controversy surrounding Jesus’ resurrection. The leaders of Metropolitan’s Children and Youth Church are dedicated to partnering with parents to lead children to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through age-specific lessons and activities, children ages PreK3 thru 12th grade will learn Biblical truths and real-life lessons they can apply to their daily lives.
Youth, come learn lessons about God’s love on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays while your parents and guardians are in 10:00 AM Worship! We promise it’s a spiritually engaging and fun experience, and you should invite your friends along too! Metropolitan, The Life Verse Challenge is Back! Our PreK3 -12th graders will be participating in a memory verse challenge on Sunday, June 4th during Children and Youth Church, and this year winners will receive money toward their college savings plans.
Interested students must register via REALM by May 28th. Members and guests, we need you too! Please pray and consider donating any amount toward this initiative. Being stopped by a police officer is sometimes a traumatic experience, especially in light of ongoing events involving Black people and law enforcement.
