The Christian Discipleship Council encourages all members to support our Annual School Supply Drive. A gift can be made by using any of our five giving platforms. In the memo sections, just indicate “School Supply Drive.” You can also give via REALM, our church app. The GOAL is to raise $10,000.00 to purchase school uniforms and school supplies for students, and fulfill educator wish lists. Metropolitan let’s show how much we CARE by helping our students, educators and the Largo Community. I’ve Got This with Jesus!!! Vacation Bible School 2023 is coming up on July 17th – 19th from 6:30 PM – 8:30 PM Metropolitan! This program is for all congregants ages 4 to adult, and it continues to propel our Bible Scholars from average to excellence in every area of their lives, especially spiritual and emotional growth. It focuses on developing the God-given potential of students from all age groups by demonstrating how STRENGTH from GOD originates with a personal relationship with Him. This curriculum is a continuation of our movement in Christ as we recognize His indwelling within us. WE GOT THIS with Jesus! We will be instrumental in encouraging believers to achieve unlimited accomplishments, understanding that our STRENGTH comes from God. Register for classes or to volunteer on REALM.

Children & Youth Church

Metropolitan Parents and Students! Summer is here and our Children and Youth Church is taking a summer break. The last Children and Youth Church session will take place on July 9th, and they will beautify our campus and the surrounding business park that day. Children & Youth Church will return after the break on September 10th at 10:00 AM ET. If you have any questions, please email youth@metropolitanbaptist.org.


Metropolitan, our students are going on a Road Trip to Kings Dominion on Saturday, July 15th and we have rented a coach bus for everyone to ride together. We will depart the church at 9:00 AM and will return by 9:00 PM. All students in PreK3-12th grade and parents are invited, but all who are not in high school will need a chaperone. Churchwide Upcoming Worship

On Sunday, July 2nd, Rev. Dr. Cynthia Turner Wood from the Dayspring Community Church will join us for worship at 10:00 AM. She’s prepared a special message for us and we are always delighted to have her at Metropolitan!


Men’s Day is coming up on July 9th and we’re looking forward to hearing a Word from Rev. Dr. Keith A. Troy, Pastor of the New Salem Baptist Church in Columbus, OH. Our Mighty Men’s Choir will minister in song.


The Christian Discipleship Council and The H. Beecher Hicks Jr. Library Ministry cordially invite you to join them on Sunday, July 16th, for a book signing with a daughter of our church, The Reverend Dr. Leslie Copeland. She will be our guest preacher for the day and will be signing her book, 24/7 Embodying Christ-like Leadership in the Hicks Library immediately following Worship.


Young Adult Sunday is July 23rd and we have an awesome day of events planned! We’ll worship together at 10:00 AM ET with Min. Micah McKay of the First Baptist Church in North Brentwood, MD, and we are excited to welcome psalmist Duane Mandella Simmons too. Then following worship, we will be throwing axes inside the mobile axe-throwing truck, and enjoying food from “It’s Tropical,” a Jamaican Food Truck. Make sure you are here and please invite at least one young adult to join you for this fun-filled Sunday!


Metropolitan! The day is almost here! The “hope and future” God promised, the 7th Senior Servant of our beloved Metropolitan Baptist Church, Dr. George Lewis Parks Jr., will mount the pulpit on the 5th Sunday in July and preach his first of many sermons with us! You don’t want to miss this very special service and moment in the life of our church. Invite 5 people and come prepared to worship God in a new way. Metropolitan Music and Arts Ministry

Calling a few good Metropolitan Men! Wait NOOO. We need an army of MBC brothers to bombard heaven with songs of Praise to our Lord on Sunday, July 9th for Men’s Day! Join us in fellowship at any one of the rehearsals either in person or online with Brother Brandon Felder. Attire for Men’s Day is white polos and khaki pants.
