Courtney Fitzhugh, MD has accepted the offer of clinical tenure-track investigator in the Sickle Cell Branch within the Division of Intramural Research at the NIH.  In this capacity, she will be responsible for maintaining and expanding her diverse translational research program.

Within this role, Dr. Fitzhugh will add to and lead a team of researchers to leverage her previous investigation into the biology of sickle cell disease.  Her achievement includes running the novel haploidentical bone marrow transplantation protocol for patients with sickle cell disease as principal investigator.  Dr. Fitzhugh was recently selected as an NIH Lasker Clinical Research Scholar.
