Yvonne Wilson

Yvonne Wilson currently serves as the Director of the Multimedia Ministry. She has been a member of Metropolitan Church since 1999 and a member of the A/V ministry from the very beginning. Her commitment to the A/V ministry was evident from the beginning when she volunteered to be stationed outside of the church on R St. NW selling cassette tapes and VHS videos. Eventually, she became the team lead for the Sales Team thru the transition from cassettes & VHS to CD’s & DVD’s. Yvonne continued her commitment to the ministry and became Deputy Director for eight years under two directors until 2024 when she became the Director. Under her leadership the multimedia ministry has experienced significant technological advancements and growth of the team to keep up with the growth and innovation of the church experience. She also serves in the food pantry ministry and is a member of the Hearts and Flowers ministry.
Yvonne is a U.S. Air Force Veteran and retired after 41 years in federal service between active duty, the Department of Defense – U.S. Air Force Reserve and U.S. Agency for International Development.
She has a B.S. in Criminal Justice Administration graduating Cum Laude. After traveling the globe with her career, she is happy to be back on the east coast closer to family. Originally from Long Island, New York, she enjoys being able to attend family events. She enjoys many activities in the D.C. area, community activities, concerts, festivals, museums, plays, and walking the streets of DC to admire the local architecture.
She has made lasting friendships with her Capitol Hill Cluster Mom’s group and her Metropolitan church family. She has one son who has a congenital condition, Marfan Syndrome. She is active in the local and national Marfan’s organization. The Metropolitan family and particularly the Multimedia family have prayed for her son through all his hospitalizations and have supported her in every way. Yvonne is grateful and thankful for all the love and endeavors to return that love with a smile and hug.
