World Aids Day

December 1

Metropolitan Family, have you seen the HIV/AIDS Memorial Quilt? If you haven’t, stop by today outside of Room C-43 to
see this memorial quilt that was first presented at Metropolitan on October 5, 1997. The quilt has eight individual panels
of which seven bear the names of the first MBC members we lost to the AIDS disease. As we move towards celebrating
World AIDS Day in December, the HIV/AIDS Ministry still needs your help as we carry out the mandate of Jesus Christ, to
accept the responsibility of ministering to those in need. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services launched an
initiative in 2019 to reduce new HIV infections by 90% by the year 2023. Won’t you join us in this effort? Please contact
Rev. Clarafrancie Sowers at hivaids@metropolitanbaptist.org or Dr. Sherrill McMillan Duckett at
drmcmillan@metropolitanbaptist.org to learn how you can become involved in the ministry.
