Bereavement
Do you have a heart for serving bereaved families? Have you been comforted during your personal time of grieving? If so, the Bereavement Ministry is the place where you can serve and support others as they move through the grieving process. Let us hear from you at bereavement@metropolitanbaptist.org. Send us a note with your name, phone number, and email address! Someone from the ministry will reach out to you soon.
GriefShare
The Bereavement Ministry is offering GriefShare Sessions this spring on Wednesdays through May 24th at 10:00 AM and 7:00 PM ET.
If you have lost a family member or someone special to your heart, then we encourage you to take part in this support group that will provide you with the tools to go through the grieving process during this difficult time.
Topics include: Is Grief Normal?, Guilt and Anger, Challenges of Grief During The COVID Season, and Establishing a New Normal After Grief.

Bereavement Ministry
Grieving is not limited solely to the physical loss of a loved one. It can be associated with any loss. The loss of jobs, relationships, and physical health are examples of grief. Come join the Bereavement Ministry on Saturday, June 3 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 noon ET for “Care: Everyone Needs It.” Rev. Dr. Jamie Eaddy Chism will help us to navigate the grief gap that can exist in this space. The deadline to enroll is May 31st so register today on REALM or email bereavement@metropolitanbaptist.org.

Metropolitan, you are invited to join us for Church-Wide Bible Study at 7:00 PM every Tuesday – May 16th through June 27th. Rev. Tanai White will lead our study of 1st Corinthians, where Paul addresses some big problems: division, sexual misconduct, misunderstanding about food and worship practices, and controversy surrounding Jesus’ resurrection. Children & Youth Church
The leaders of Metropolitan’s Children and Youth Church are dedicated to partnering with parents to lead children to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through age-specific lessons and activities, children ages PreK3 thru 12th grade will learn Biblical truths and real-life lessons they can apply to their daily lives.
Youth, come learn lessons about God’s love on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays while your parents and guardians are in 10:00 AM Worship! We promise it’s a spiritually engaging and fun experience, and you should invite your friends along too! Metropolitan, The Life Verse Challenge is Back! Our PreK3 -12th graders will be participating in a memory verse challenge on Sunday, June 4th during Children and Youth Church, and this year winners will receive money toward their college savings plans.
Interested students must register via REALM by May 28th. Members and guests, we need you too! Please pray and consider donating any amount toward this initiative. Emerge Young Adult Ministry
The Emerge Young Adult Ministry is hosting a College Informational Fair for parents and students ages 13 and up. This event will be held at Metropolitan on Saturday, June 3rd, starting at 9:30 AM ET and will feature sessions on planning, athletics, college life, academics, financial aid, and more. Additionally, this forum will include networking opportunities and a Q&A panel session.

Health and Wellness Ministry
CPR SAVES LIVES, and Metropolitan Cares about saving lives!
Church Family, the formal CPR training and certification class scheduled for Saturday, April 29th has been rescheduled for June 24th; and the live, hands-only CPR demonstration scheduled for Sunday, April 30th will now be held on May 7th.

IAMA Ministry

Matthew 25 Ministries
Metropolitan, we are excited to share that our “We Are One Body Food Pantry” is opening its doors again on 3rd Sundays immediately following our 10:00 AM Worship Service. Need food? We care and have lots to share!

We are always seeking volunteers too! Volunteer to assist staff with Sunday operations, maintaining inventory, or handling customer care! Our collective giving helps Metropolitan to meet the most important need for our families and our community.

Prayer
There is incredible power and potential in prayer. Through prayer, we invite the God of the Universe into a situation and into our lives. Prayer changes things; but even more, prayer changes us. Through prayer, we have the opportunity to reach our full potential in Christ. Consider joining us for any of our weekly prayer calls! There’s one for everyone!

Transportation
Metropolitan’s Transportation Ministry is available to transport seniors and members to and from church and ministry events. Whether a loved one needs a ride or you need a pick-up from the Largo Metro Station, we are here to serve.

Do you have the spirit of hospitality? Are you seeking a place to serve? Meet the Ushers after service on Sunday, May 28th in the Chapel to learn more about the ministry. We are a fun-loving and caring ministry.

Social Justice and Public Policy Ministry
Being stopped by a police officer is sometimes a traumatic experience, especially in light of ongoing events involving Black people and law enforcement. Join the SJPP Ministry on Saturday, June 17 to hear police professionals explain best practices and on “What to Do When Stopped by the Police.” Remember this is a battle you CAN afford to lose – just to get home safely!
