GriefShare

The Bereavement Ministry is offering GriefShare Sessions this spring on Wednesdays through May 24 at 10 AM and 7 PM ET.

If you have lost a family member or someone special to your heart, then we encourage you to take part in this support group that will provide you with the tools to go through the grieving process during this difficult time.


Topics include: Is Grief Normal?, Guilt and Anger, Challenges of Grief During The COVID Season, and Establishing a New Normal After Grief

Amazing Grace: A Study of the Articles of Faith

Are you a new leader of a ministry?  Are you interested in learning more about the core beliefs of the Christian faith? Amazing Grace: A Study of the Articles of Faith, Part One, is the class for you! 


Part One, taught by Dr. Jesse Wood, ends on April 4 at 7 PM ET and focuses on The Creeds of the Churches, The Baptist Creed, The New Hampshire Confession, and Articles One through Nine.

Bible Challenge

THE BIBLE CHALLENGE IS BACK for the Lenten Season and everyone is invited to participate! Will you take the Bible Challenge? We are reading THE BOOK OF ROMANS during our 40 Days of Power and Prayer. Each week you will have a Sabbath rest. As you read, just check off the reading assignment for the day. 


Those who complete the Challenge and turn in their Registration Form by Sunday, April 16, 2023, will be entered into a drawing.

Women’s Bible Study

Children & Youth Church

The leaders of Metropolitan’s Children and Youth church are dedicated to partnering with parents to lead children to become fully devoted followers of Christ. Through age-specific lessons and activities, children ages Pre-K3 through 12th grade will learn Biblical truths and real-life lessons they can apply to their daily lives.

Youth, come learn lessons about God’s love on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Sundays while your parents and guardians are in 10 AM Worship! We promise it’s a spiritually engaging and fun experience and you should invite your friends along too!

Vaccinations and masks are still required.

Churchwide Upcoming Worship

It wasn’t nails that held Him to the cross, but it was His love for you and me. Worship at Metropolitan in person or online during Holy Week and beyond this April.

On Palm Sunday, Rev. Brenda Girton-Mitchell will be preaching as we commemorate Jesus Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem.

We are excited to have the Shiloh Baptist Church join us for worship on Maundy Thursday! Rev. Wallace Charles Smith will help us recognize the day Jesus celebrated his final Passover with His disciples.

We won’t have a 7 Last Words Service, but ohhhhh on the 3rd day, He got up and we know we will too! We’ll celebrate that He conquered death and redeemed us from sin! Meet us for Resurrection Sunday service! Dr. Jesse L. Wood will be preaching!

Rev. Kevin Gresham II, Dr. Ayanna Lenard, and Dr. Demetra Hutchinson will preach on the remaining Sundays in April.

Next Sunday, April 16, bring the kids to the main sanctuary as we prepare to meet Rev. Kevin Gresham II for worship! He’s got an engaging Word to share for all ages.

On Sunday, April 23, Dr. Ayanna Lenard will share a very special message with us.

And…Dr. Demetra Hutchinson is back in the pulpit on April 30th! Worship with us online or in person at 10 AM ET.

Dr. Jesse L. Wood is heading over to Shiloh Baptist Church in Washington, DC, for its mid-day Good Friday Worship Service on April 7 beginning at noon.

The Emerge Young Adult Ministry is hosting a College Informational Fair for parents/students ages 13 and up. Health and Wellness Ministry

CPR SAVES LIVES, and Metropolitan Cares about saving lives! 

Our Health and Wellness Ministry along with the Greeters Ministry invites you to their formal CPR training and certification class on Saturday, April 29.

The class is $65. You can also stop by Room C-43 for a live hands-only CPR demonstration on Sunday, April 30, 2023, after Worship Service. Registration is open now for either session on REALM!

IAMA Ministry
